PLAINS TWP. — Wilkes-Barre Area scored on its first five possessions — and one time Wyoming Valley West had the ball — on Saturday afternoon.
The player responsible for many of those touchdowns also broke a Wyoming Valley Conference record.
WBA quarterback Jake Howe became the conference’s all-time TD pass leader as he threw four touchdowns in the Wolfpack’s 49-0 rout in the Battle For the Bridge rivalry game.
Howe’s 24-yard TD pass to Jonathan Otway-Kellom in the second quarter gave him 65 for his career, breaking the mark of 64 set by Williamsport’s Isaiah Hankins in 2016. His final touchdown pass gave the Wolfpack (2-2 WVC Div. 1, 5-3 overall) a 42-0 lead at halftime.
