The underground drainage (UGD) project in Jigani Town — aimed at preventing sewage from 6,300 households from polluting nearby lakes — is progressing at a painfully slow pace, raising serious concerns among residents and environmentalists about the survival of the region’s lakes and the health of its groundwater.
