Israel’s bombardment of Gaza has left large swathes of the Strip in ruins, including parts of Gaza City which was the focus of Israel’s offensive before the ceasefire.

Associated Press drone footage taken on Saturday showed massive destruction of the city’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood.

Houses and other structures have been flattened to the ground, roads bulldozed and piles of rubble were seen across the area.

Israel’s bombardment campaign had focused on Gaza City over the past weeks.

The military bombed dozens of high-rise buildings and destroyed entire residential blocks as part of what it said was dismantling Hamas infrastructures.
