There’s ugly, and then there’s whatever Wisconsin delivered with the Heartland Trophy on the line.

The hardware is emphatically heading back to Iowa City after the Hawkeyes delivered a 37-0 shellacking inside Camp Randall Stadium on Oct. 11. Iowa has now won four straight in this series for the first time since 2002-05 and secured its first shutout against the Badgers since 1996.

Per usual, there were noteworthy numbers all over the final assessment of this one. Here are five figures that told the story of Iowa’s dominant victory.

96 … as in Iowa shut out Wisconsin in Madison for the first time in 96 years.

What was going on in 1929? Well, Iowa was rolling to a 14-0 win over the Badgers as part of a 4-2-2 campaign. That was the last time the Hawkeyes blanked Wisconsin in Madison.
