It looks like a visit from Cam Newton just wasn’t enough for Auburn to overcome its offensive woes.
Now 3-3 overall and 0-3 in conference play, the Tigers’ 20-10 loss to No. 10 Georgia extended the Dawgs’ winning streak in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry to nine games.
Auburn’s offense, which ranked last in most SEC categories entering the game, looked largely dominant during the first half, with 237 yards to Georgia’s 78. Those numbers, however, don’t mean much if you can’t end drives with a score.
An apparent touchdown ruled a goal-line fumble for Auburn to close out the first half, and a scoring drive from Georgia to tie things up in the 3rd quarter gave the Dawgs the momentum they needed for the win.
