STUART, Iowa —

An Iowa woman was arrested Friday after an investigation into a potential threat of terrorism toward a school.

Stuart police say they have arrested Terri Lynn Lira Arthur, 55, of Menlo.

Police say a school employee reported receiving a phone call Oct. 7 from Arthur in which she reported a threat toward the school. Officers began an investigation and found no credible threat, but evidence showed Arthur's report "caused unnecessary alarm among school staff" and may have been intended to falsely implicate another person.

Arthur is facing a charge of false report to or communications with public safety entities, which is a Class D felony due to the nature of the reported threat involving terrorism. She is also charged with harassment. This content is imported from Facebook.
