APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - An emotional event was held Saturday night in Appleton, as friends and family members of Casey Sjoberg held a memorial car meet just one week after he was killed in a crash by an alleged drunk driver.
With a passion for cars and the need for speed, car enthusiasts from around northeast Wisconsin gathered to share their love of these 4,000-lb machines while also raising awareness of the reality of losing someone to a drunk driver.
“It wasn’t just me affected. There was other people. I spend a lot of time thinking about that. That I will never be able to see Casey again,” says Luke Vanden Heuvel.
Vanden Heuvel was in the car with 26-year-old Casey Sjoberg when he died on October 4th from an alleged drunk driver near the intersection of Richmond Street and the I-4
