The Northrop girls soccer team held off a late Leo comeback to win 3-2 on Saturday and claim the Class 3A Northrop Sectional title at home.
The Bruins (14-4), who upset No. 7 Carroll in penalty kicks on Thursday, clinched the fourth sectional title in program history and the second in three years.
"I always knew this group was going to be special, coming into this year," Northrop coach Jay Glogowski said. "We were plagued with a couple injuries, some big injuries this year, and they battled through it. Now, here we are."
The Bruins built a 2-0 lead in the first half, and even had a golden opportunity to extend it to a three-goal lead before the break.
