LOS ANGELES — Overmatched and outplayed, Michigan football fell behind early, tied the game up and then let it get away.

The Wolverines dropped a 31-13 game to Southern Cal on Saturday at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, their second loss of the season that has any hopes of a playoff appearance in jeopardy.

Michigan (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) was outscored 24-6 after evening the game in the second quarter, while surrendering a season-high 489 yards of offense to USC’s explosive offense.
