USC's King Miller is just the latest example. He came to South California as a walk-on, and he hasn't yet been given a scholarship a year later. But on Saturday night, Miller was the hero in the Trojans' win over Michigan.

Injuries had USC deep down the RB depth chart, and Miller got the call.

He ran for 158 yards and a touchdown. His rushing TD made him the first walk-on to score a touchdown for USC since 1994, according to the Associated Press .

The odds of this simply weren't high at all. Miller made the most of his chance.

Miller is from Calabasas High School in California.
