DARLINGTON — Marianna White was in her last year at the University of South Carolina School of Law when the world shut down.
In 2020, the courts shut down, like everything else. Finding a job in law became a struggle.

“And then one day, I finally saw a job posting for an assistant public defender position in Darlington,” White said. “And I was living in Columbia at the time, so a little further than I wanted to go, but I was like, I need, I want to do this.
“I knew I wanted to do this kind of work. It was the first opportunity that I had seen in quite some time, given the pandemic.” Food-drink
