The depredations of BJP workers and officer bearers at the grassroot level is crossing all limits as the local level leaders are now turning on party’s own workers and supporters. In a disgraceful incident a booth level president of the party physically assaulted a woman worker of the party in front of her teenaged daughter in full public view. The assaulted lady has filed a complaint with the police in Sonamura subdivisional town but no action has so far been taken against the thuggish booth president.

The shameful incident happened in Purba Durlavnarayan area under Sonamura police station . Sources said that Manika Sarkar Nama (32), wife of local BJP worker Asim Nama, had gone to take ‘Prasadam’ of a ‘Puja’ held in the Purba Durlavnarayan market area with her daughter Ankita Sarkar Nama
