Q: How do you decide if a trust or a will is better?
A: I think what you’re asking is, “Do I need a trust?” This is one of the most common questions that I get. Unfortunately, the answer isn’t always an easy one, and it certainly isn’t the same for everyone. A trust makes sense in some cases and not in others. It all depends on goals, family dynamics and the make-up of the estate. Simply put, it depends on your circumstances.
