PORTLAND, Maine (WMTW) - Teams of 20 gathered at the Portland International Jetport on Saturday to pull a 45-ton FedEx plane 20 feet as part of a fundraising event organized by the Travis Mills Foundation and Hammond Lumber Company.
The event required each team to raise a minimum of $2,500 to participate.
All proceeds will go toward supporting post-9/11 recalibrated veterans and their families.
The Travis Mills Foundation operates a retreat in Maine for veterans who have sustained life-altering injuries. Since its founding, the organization has served more than 2,200 families from 47 states.
