KONA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Norway’s Solveig Lovseth won the 2025 Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona Saturday.
Lovseth crossed the finish line in 8 hours, 28 minutes, and 29 seconds, taking home her first world title in her first Ironman.
The lead changed multiple times during the run portion of the 140.6-mile course, and the Kona conditions got the best of the main leader, Taylor Knibb.
Knibb bowed out of the race just before the final stretch of Palani Road to the finish line, which made way for Lovseth to take the title.
