During a typical week, Detroiter Mario Hall is accustomed to serving hundreds of customers at Hallstarz Business Center, a 40-year-old family business in the heart of the Bagley Community.

However, on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 19, Hall will be among thousands of other runners that will pack Fort Street, between Second and Third avenues, downtown to begin the Detroit Free Press Marathon journey that will play out across two countries.
