Cyberabad police booked 478 persons for drunk driving during weekend checks. Most were two-wheeler riders. Medchal and KPHB areas reported the highest numbers. Offenders face court action, with several found having dangerously high alcohol levels

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police caught 478 persons during a weekend special drunken driving check on Saturday night.

Among those held are 435 two-wheeler riders, 18 three-wheeler drivers, 79 four-wheeler drivers and two heavy vehicle drivers.

The Medchal and KPHB police caught 50 persons each, while Shamshabad police caught 49 people and Rajendranagar 47 people during the checking.

The police booked cases against them and all those caught will have to appear before the court. Among those caught, 22 persons had a BAC level above 301 mg/100 ml,
