Lostprophets were riding high as one of the UK's leading rock bands. Their third album, Liberation Transmission, topped the charts in 2006 and they had three other records that made it into the top 10. ‌

However, the band is now perhaps most infamously known for its frontman, sex offender Ian Watkins, who was recently killed in prison on 11 October 2025. ‌
