Eastpointe voters will see two incumbents and one newcomer on the Nov. 4 ballot to fill two, four-year terms on city council.

Councilman Cardi DeMonaco Jr. was appointed to the city council in 2014, then elected in a 2015 special election and reelected in 2017 and 2021.

Incumbent Rob Baker is serving his first term on the city council and is seeking reelection.

Karen Scott is an educator who is running for office for the first time.

Eastpointe is in the midst of developing a new master plan and working to plan for business development and neighborhood improvements. One of the most controversial issues recently has been the proposed Nine Mile Road lane reductions to bring a section of the roadway from five lanes to three.
