SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —

A person is dead after driving off the road and into a ditch Sunday morning.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2009 Lexus Sedan was driving south on SC 101 near Old Woodruff Road.

Around 2:40 a.m., it drove off the left side of the road, hitting a ditch and overturning. The driver was the only person inside. They died at the scene.

The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office has not identified the driver at this time.
