DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - An upper level ridge remains in control today, meaning more sunshine for central Illinois today.
Temperatures will warm to the upper 70s this afternoon. Then, overnight lows will stay mild in the low 50s thanks to increasing cloud cover.
These clouds roll in ahead of a cold front moving in tomorrow. It may bring light, isolated showers early tomorrow morning for those mainly west of I-55. However, tomorrow will be a mainly quiet day, with the cold front bringing more clouds and slightly cool air than rain.
Rain chances are not at 0 for the midweek, but they are slim, and the chances of that rain hitting the ground are even slimmer. With dry air dominating again for the last week, we can expect drought conditions to worsen by this week’s update.
