SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield Symphony Hall launched its season with 'A Night in Italy' in celebration of Italian Heritage Month.

The opening night concert attracted hundreds of attendees, offering a respite from the digital world and showcasing the allure of classical music.

"I grew up in this area, I've always been interested in the arts," said Stephanie Davis of Longmeadow. "I was an art history major, so I got to support the arts, always the arts."

Sister Mary Caritas, a 102-year-old attendee from Holyoke, shared her enthusiasm for the event, noting, "Well, my friend Joey has season tickets and when her husband doesn't want to come, I'm the lucky one."

The concert marked the beginning of Symphony Hall's season with 'A Night in Italy', celebrating Italian Heritage Month.
