CHESAPEAKE, Va. — More than 2,100 customers are without power across Hampton Roads as a nor’easter continues to pound the region with strong winds and heavy rain.
Dominion Energy reports outages affecting 629 customers in Chesapeake, 637 in Isle of Wight, 132 in James City County, 99 in Portsmouth, 85 in Suffolk, and 700 in Virginia Beach.
The storm is bringing gusts of 40 to 55 mph, heavy rainfall, and some of the highest tides of the season, prompting officials to issue coastal flood warnings for Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks.
“The biggest piece that we’re focusing on is going to be the flooding in that area. And so, we want people to be prepared for that, to recognize that it’s a potential, going to have heavy rains, going to have a very heavy potential for tidal flooding,” said
