Police have charged a Waynesboro man with homicide after an early-morning shooting Saturday left one man dead.

Aaron Pigford, 25, of Waynesboro, was charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of Edward Jackson, 32, from Delaware.

At 12:14 a.m. on Saturday, the Chambersburg police responded to the 100 block of South Main Street for a shooting and found Jackson dead.

Pigford was denied bail because the offense is homicide by Magisterial District Judge Annie Gomez Shockey. His preliminary hearing is Oct. 21.

The shooting comes days after a man shot and wounded two state troopers in Franklin County.
