The Texas Tech football team split the focus of the run game almost equally between Cameron Dickey and J'Koby Williams through the first five games of the season, each with a shade more than 300 yards on close to the same number of attempts.
Williams, dealing with a tweaked ankle, got a lighter workload this past week in practice, so it was up to Dickey to deliver on homecoming against Kansas .
Deliver he did.
The Austin Crockett graduate carried 21 times for 263 yards and two touchdowns as the Red Raiders beat the Jayhawks 42-17 on Saturday, Oct. 11, in front a packed house at Jones AT&T Stadium. The 263-yard performance ranks fifth on the Tech single-game list. Byron Hanspard set the record with 287 yards against Baylor in 1996.
