NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - After MumFest was cancelled this weekend due to weather, New Bern continues to see flooding from recent rain fall from a coastal low.

High tide will bring even worse flooding to the area this afternoon and late tonight.

The city says several low-lying spots are impassable today due to north eastern winds and flooding. They advise to avoid Oaks Road at the bridge, Council Bluff Green along East Front Street, and areas along Renny’s Creek.

Union Point Park remains closed due to flooding.

According to WITN’s First Alert Weather Team, the worst of the coastal flooding will be with the early afternoon high tide as wind continues. They say Trent River, Neuse River, Bay River, and Pamlico County look the most susceptible with levels up to four feet above ground level.
