Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira bounced back in a big way with a second-round rear-naked-choke submission win (2:48) over Mateusz Gamrot on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the main event of UFC Fight Night.
Oliveira (36-11 MMA) was emotional during his post-fight interview, improving his hometown record to 7-0 after having accomplished a plethora of achievements, including the most submissions (17) and most bonuses (20) in UFC history.
Oliveira, who lost to current lightweight champion Ilia Topuria via knockout on June 28, wants big fights moving forward, requesting UFC "BMF" champion Max Holloway (27-8) as a possible future opponent.
"Let's make that happen," Oliveira said through an interpreter while eying UFC CBO Hunter Campbell.
