WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A power outage is impacting traffic lights in part of Luzerne County.

According to Wilkes-Barre Township police, the traffic lights at Highland Park Boulevard, Coal Street and Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard are not working. Pennsylvania law requires drivers to treat any malfunctioning or inoperable traffic light as a stop sign in all directions.

According to PPL, about 490 homes and businesses are without power as a result. A crew on site expects power to be restored to this part of Luzerne County by 6 p.m. Sunday.
