WOODSTOCK – Sprayberry has gained an upper hand in Region 6AAAAA.

The Yellow Jackets (7-1, 4-1) took down River Ridge (6-2, 3-2) on the road, 28-10, on Friday night, breaking themselves away from the five-way tie for first in the crowded region.

Sprayberry’s defense made the difference in the second half, holding the Knights off the scoreboard and forcing a pair of turnovers, which both led to touchdowns. The Yellow Jackets caught a break in the second quarter, though, as River Ridge quarterback Hunter Lockerman exited the game with an apparent ankle injury.
