WOODSTOCK -- Sprayberry gained an upper hand in the Region 6AAAAA logjam.
The Yellow Jackets beat River Ridge 28-10 on the road Friday night, breaking themselves away from the five-way tie for first in the crowded region.
Sprayberry’s defense made the difference in the second half, holding the Knights (6-2, 3-2) off the scoreboard and forcing a pair of turnovers, both of which led to touchdowns.
The Yellow Jackets (7-1, 4-1) caught a break in the second quarter, though, as River Ridge quarterback Hunter Lockerman exited the game with an apparent ankle injury.
