The Blue Jays will once again be forced to go to work in the playoffs without the services of star shortstop Bo Bichette.

The two-time all-star was left off the Jays’ roster for the American League championship series prior to Sunday morning’s 10 a.m. ET deadline. He hasn’t played since injuring his left knee during a game at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 6.

Right-handers Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer made the cut. The veteran pitchers had been left off the AL division series roster, but with the format expanding to a best-of-seven series, the Jays required an additional starter. To make room, relievers Tommy Nance and Justin Bruihl were left off the roster.
