FARMINGTON — A teen girl was killed in an off-road crash here Saturday morning while fleeing police, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.

The girl, 16, of Bonne Terre, was pronounced dead just after the crash about 9:30 a.m. on Highway 67 near Highway 32, according a patrol crash report. The patrol did not publicly identify her.

She was fleeing police on Highway 67 and tried to avoid "stop sticks" placed in the roadway to deflate her vehicle's tires, the patrol said. Her vehicle, a 2013 Buick Enclave SUV, traveled off the west side of the road and overturned.

The girl was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, the report said.

The St. Francois County Sheriff's Office, Farmington Police and Parks Hills Police assisted the Highway Patrol, the report said.
