A Tecumseh teenager has been arrested after making credible threats to "shoot up" his school, according to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office.

On Oct. 11, the FBI contacted the sheriff's office about a "credible threat made toward an unknown school within Pottawatomie County," according to a news release.

In a statement shared Oct. 12, Tecumseh Public Schools said the district was notified this weekend by the sheriff's office about a month-old social media post made by a Tecumseh High School student that included "threatening language and images involving weapons," which were taken inside a Tecumseh High School restroom.
