A person was flown to a hospital by medical helicopter Saturday evening after they were shot in Beverly, according to police.

Beverly police responded to the shooting on Simon Street after receiving reports of gunfire shortly after 7:15 p.m., the police department said in a press release . At the scene, they found a person with gunshot wounds.

The victim was flown to a local hospital via medical helicopter, police said. Authorities did not know their condition as of 9 p.m. Saturday.

“At this time it appears that this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public,” the release reads.

Beverly and State Police are investigating the shooting. No arrests have been announced, and no further information has been released.
