A nor’easter hit Massachusetts Sunday afternoon, bringing rain to most of the state and high winds and flooding to the coastline, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood advisory remains in effect for Cape Cod and the eastern coast of Massachusetts until 6 p.m. Sunday. The weather service advises allowing extra time for travel in these areas to allow for road closures, and drivers should not maneuver around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

A high wind warning also remains in effect for the Islands until 2 p.m. Monday. During this time, northeast winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected, according to the weather service.
