BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Alabama earned its highest ranking of the season in the AP Top 25 college football poll Sunday.

The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 6, which marks a two-spot improvement from last week.

Alabama downed then-No. 14 Missouri, 27-24, on Saturday for its third consecutive win over a program in the AP Top 25. The Crimson Tide is on a five-game winning streak after falling at Florida State to start its 2025 campaign.

Alabama faces No. 11 Tennessee at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Week 8. The Volunteers are 5-1, with their sole loss coming against Georgia.

Ohio State, Miami (FL), Indiana, Texas A&M and Ole Miss are in the poll's top five.
