Wake Forest heads into its second open weekend of the season in a lot better shape thanks to a dominating performance on the road against Oregon State on Saturday afternoon.

The Demon Deacons rolled to a 39-14 win and did just about everything right including showing off their depth at quarterback.

Starter Robby Ashford was out with an injury, but Deshawn Purdie didn’t miss a beat by throwing four touchdown passes.

“Our team just keeps getting better,” Dickert told reporters in Corvallis, Oregon, after the win. “That’s why I’m proud of these guys.”

The Demon Deacons improved to 4-2 in Dickert’s first season and only need two more wins in their final six games to become bowl eligible.
