SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Three fire departments responded to a Saturday afternoon field fire north of Canton, the Canton Fire Department posted on Facebook.

Fire departments from Worthing, Harrisburg and Canton all responded.

The National Weather Service said Sunday that the grassland fire danger index is high for southeastern South Dakota and central parts of the state including Huron, Woonsocket and Chamberlain.

The NWS cited wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph and temperatures that could reach the mid-70s to low 80s on Sunday afternoon as some of the factors for the high risk of grassland fires.
