TOWNER, N.D. (KMOT) - The Towner Ambulance District is now able to serve patients better thanks to grant money.
The district received $35,000 from various organizations for a new LifePak 35 to monitor vitals. Manager LeRae Bachmeier says the machine is an upgrade to their LifePak 15.
She explains that the touch screen and other features on the new one allow for better tracking of cardiac events and more.
Bachmeier adds the old machine was also becoming a concern if it needed to be serviced.
“The LifePak 15 that we had, Stryker the company that would normally service that, will no longer service that because it is outdated,” said Bachmeier.
Bachmeier says they plan to purchase another new Lifepak soon, along with a few other small pieces of equipment.
