BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- Burbank police recently shared images of the items they seized from an alleged South American theft group believed to be working in Southern California.

Investigators recently searched a 7th floor apartment near downtown Los Angeles where the suspected burglars were apparently living.

They found stolen jewelry, cash, handbags and three cars.

It appeared no one was home at the time, but officers checked the balcony and found the suspects trying to escape by tight-roping to a narrow ledge to the next balcony.

They were caught and booked.

According to police, they have evidence linking them to five burglaries in Burbank, Monterey Park and Chino Hills.
