Less than six months later, the Huskies were standing alone at center court in Tampa, Florida hoisting their first NCAA championship trophy since 2016 after a dominant rout of 1-seed South Carolina in the title game.

As UConn prepares to play its first exhibition game of 2025-26 against Boston College on Monday, coach Geno Auriemma knows better than to put any real stock in October results. But even if the on-court product looks ugly, there’s always value in the experience.
