SARTELL — Taryn Mithun ended her sophomore season with a victory.

The Brainerd Warriors' No. 1 singles player defeated St. Michael-Albertville’s Bryn Bartus in the third-place match of the Section 8-3A Individual tournament 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 Saturday, Oct. 11.

Mithun, who advanced to the semifinal round with two wins in the early rounds, fell to St. Michael-Albertville’s Megan Beack 6-3, 6-3. Beack, the No. 2-seeded singles player in the section, lost to No.1-seeded Paige Tarrolly of St. Cloud Tech in the finals to prevent a true-second match.
