A freeze watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 12:34 p.m. valid for Tuesday between midnight and 9 a.m. for Upper Hood River Valley.

“Sub-freezing temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees possible,” explains the weather service. “Probabilities for temperatures at or below 32 degrees range between 50-90%. Probabilities for temperatures of 28 degrees or colder range between 5-35%. These probabilities are highest in the Parkdale area and lowest in Odell.”

“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” says the weather service. “To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
