It may still be spooky season, but The Old Farmer's Almanac is already looking forward to the holidays.

The almanac released its Thanksgiving 2025 Travel Weather Map and forecast Oct. 6, previewing the weather for when the " traffic is terrific. "

Forecasters suggest that Thanksgiving week will see "a patchwork of weather across the U.S." with limited snow in northern parts of the country, sun in most of the East and rain in the West.

The almanac warns that the forecast can be used for to prepare for holiday travel, but local conditions should be checked closer to departure. "They’re perfect for planning, but not a substitute for daily local forecasts," the almanac said.
