KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs will have a different left tackle lining up for Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Lions.
On Sunday, the Chiefs said left tackle Josh Simmons was questionable for the game due to a personal matter. At 5:06 p.m., the Chiefs downgraded Simmons to out.
According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Simmons is dealing with a family matter back in California.
“At this point, doubtful he’s back for the game,” Rapoport said just after 3 p.m.
Simmons was drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He’s part of a new-look left side of the Chiefs offensive line this season alongside second-year left guard Kingsley Suamataia.
