PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A family in shambles.
Michael Post says he was at home when he received a call from his sister regarding his mother Sheena and stepfather Sean Hofmann.
"She was like you need to get to mom's house now. Your stepdad just covered her in gasoline and said he's gonna light her on fire," said Post.
The Tulare County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to Hofmann's home near Porterville on Friday night, a little before 5:30 p.m.
That's when they found Sheena with severe burns to her face, arms and torso.
"I felt angry and I felt scared and I can't even explain it, it was right then and there adrenaline," Post says.
Authorities say the suspect intentionally poured an accelerant on Sheena.
