Jefferson City residents will notice a unique cruiser honoring two JCPD officers who have died on duty.

JCPD’s 125th Anniversary is this year and the retro car displays graphics that were on police cars in the early 1950s.

Also, there is a “bubblegum” light on top of the vehicle that signaled emergencies during that era.

The names of two JCPD officers who died in the line of duty, Cpl. David “Ducko” Denton and Chief Tobias Younce, are displayed on both front fenders of the vehicle, a four-wheel drive Dodge Durango Police Pursuit Vehicle that is a working K-9 unit.

Jefferson City Police Chief Andy Dossett said that no extra funding was required to outfit the vehicle in retro form.
