LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - For the past eleven years, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a Louisville restaurant has been making a splash, raising funds for metastatic breast cancer research.

It’s called the Chunkin’ Pumpkins, put on by Captain’s Quarters Riverside Grille. The event involves catapulting pumpkins into the Ohio River with this contraption called a trebuchet.

They’re trying to hit a target. In this case, it’s small boats with mannequins as the stand-in boaters. It’s not just the catapult. They even try by means of a helicopter.

All of the proceeds go to Hope Scarves and Twisted Pink. They’re two organizations that support survivors with metastatic breast cancer.
