MADISON, Wis. (KCRG) — Iowa delivered a dominant performance against Wisconsin on Saturday, turning early turnovers into a commanding victory. It was the first Iowa shutout at Wisconsin since 1929.
The Hawkeyes established control from the opening drive, forcing three early turnovers that included two interceptions from defensive linemen Aaron Graves and Bryce Hawthorne. For Hawthorne, the pick marked a career milestone.
“This is the first interception in my entire life. This was a great moment for me. I’m just very happy. It didn’t feel real out there,” Hawthorne said.
Graves, meanwhile, came up just short of the goal line in his interception return.
“I have twin older brothers and I know they will never let me hear the end of not being able to get in the endzone,” Graves said.
