Students in NAIT’s culinary arts program spent Sunday in the kitchen for a good cause, preparing meals for Boyle Street’s annual Thanksgiving dinner.
Food preparation has been underway for the last week. In total, students and staff prepared 60 turkeys, 100 loaves of bread, 100 pounds of baby potatoes, 100 litres of gravy, and 7 cases of frozen vegetables.
Culinary arts student Gideon Triska is happy to use his talents in the kitchen to give back to the community.
“The satisfaction of being able to cook for those, and serve those who aren’t able to, really is very fun and gives a pleasure to us cooks in the industry,” said Triska.
